Agro-Hub is an agricultural production and marketing agency, which provides opportunities for smallholder farmers to create significant additional income through the production, transformation, and marketing of their farm produce.



Vision and Mission

AGRO-HUB was founded in 2009 after an observation that Cameroon’s agriculture lags because of an abject lack in marketing and distribution infrastructure.
Marketing and Sales cannot happen without the exchange of information, yet it is still difficult to access relevant authoritative content on agriculture in Cameroon.
It is this finding that led the founding members to create an agency with the sole purpose of facilitating rural farmers’ access to market and distribution infrastructure.
AGRO-HUB exists to help farmers gain access to profitable sustainable markets with a vision to become a leader in the marketing and distribution of Cameroon’s staple agricultural products at home and abroad.
AGRO-HUB is therefore on a mission to make Cameroon’s agricultural content more accessible and to create sustainable buyer-supplier relationships one buyer and one farmer at a time.

Historical Review

AGRO-HUB was founded in 2009 as a Common Initiative Group (CIG) with headquarter in Buea. AGRO-HUB was later upgraded to a Cooperative Society Limited with Board of Directors in 2013.
AGRO-HUB currently employs 8 and networks with a pool of experts and consultants from the fields of Agriculture, Food Processing, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, Finance, ICT and Graphics Design.
AGRO-HUB has direct access to nearly 2,000 farmers in Fako Division through their farmer cooperative body and can access over 8,000 farmers in the South West Region indirectly through agricultural extension workers who are part of our partner network.
We share an office space with Zinger Systems Co. Ltd. in a serene Buea neighborhood where we enjoy hangouts, playing, working, taking risks and changing the world together.

Timeline and Milestones

On September 2008, our founder encountered the AHA moment. He named the initiative CAN – meaning Cameroon Agricultural Network. From this time until early 2009, he spent time building the founding team and the technology platform which will power the network. Later he meets his first agribusiness partner whom he will join under the name AMIS – Agricultural Marketing Information Service.

2009 – 2010
Bridging information divide by delivering agricultural marketing information to farmers directly to their mobile phone.
Developed an SMS Desktop application called SMSDeck to manage and deliver SMS to farmers via SMS Tweets.

2011 – 2012
Provided a storehouse as a temporal storage solution for rural farmers in Muea community. The storehouse was later transformed into a fresh food store.

2013 – 2014
Operated a fresh food store called AGRO-MART in Muea and then in the University resource town center, Molyko-Buea.
The store closed down in November 2014.

The focus is on inbound marketing for agriculture in Cameroon to provide valuable relevant content for persons who want to buy agricultural products from Cameroon or persons who wish to invest in agriculture in the country.
We are working with small-scale farmers and buyers to build resilient and sustainable supply chains.
